Hubbuddy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Phone number — Used for account authentication via one-time passcode (OTP). We do not share your phone number with other users unless you choose to.
Profile information — Display name and optional avatar URL that you provide.
Content — Posts and replies you create within the app.
Contacts (optional) — If you choose to sync contacts, phone numbers are hashed (SHA-256) on your device before being sent to our servers. We never store or see raw contact phone numbers.

How We Use Your Information

To authenticate your account and provide the service
To display your profile to friends and other users
To deliver your posts and replies to your selected audience
To help you find friends who are already on Hubbuddy (via hashed contact matching)
To send you in-app notifications about friend requests and replies

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security with row-level access controls. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Posts and replies are only visible to the audience members you select.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your content is only visible to the audience you choose. We use Twilio for SMS authentication — your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for sending verification codes.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account, all your data — including your profile, posts, replies, and friendships — is permanently removed from our servers.

Children's Privacy

Hubbuddy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app.
